We have a 2002 S80 2.5TDI , it developed a fault and put up an engine management icon, i took it to my local specialist, he put it on his diagnostics , it came back with pedal fault, took it to main dealer for second opinion, same result,so, £125 lighter i fitted the new pedal, no change, took it back to garage, fault code wouldn't clear, must be something else he said, i read on Volvo forum about air con blown fuse , checked today, fitted new fuse, hey presto - fixed.

Buyers Beware
If any members are thinking about this Limo on ebay, BEWARE!
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/1215958458...%3AMEBIDX%3AIT
I sold this over 3 years ago to a fella over on the Wirral, now it is in Durham City, The seller has it listed as 1 previous owner, there were actually 2 before me, then the person who i sold it to. I have emailed the seller but have not had a reply.
Just thought i would warn any members about it.
The fella i sold it to thought he could get the reg off it,but it is stuck with the car.
Here's a pic of when i had it.

Engine: 70 T5: - Volvoless
Well now I have sold my T5.
I am going to have a break from the Volvo marquee.
Having a garage clear-out and surprised at the lack of interest in the "for sale" section.
So I have stuck most of it on ebay now.
Anyone from the VOC wants to make me offers, will be considered.
Don't really want the hassle of selling and posting on ebay but !

General: - SU Carb Jet question
how're things lads?
its been a while since i posted or been here.. but i've been lurking...
on paddies day i decided to service the SU's and after changing the jets i found the front one to be leaking at the bowl.. when i tightened it down the bloody hose pulled out and then i was stuck with the union in the bowl, together with the rubber o-ring and washer.
when i got these three things out i noticed there is still a piece of rubber/plastic in the bottom of the threaded hole. is this supposed to be there, or is it leftovers from the old jet resulting in the inability to create a fuel tight seal?
anyone got enought SU carb knowledge to know if i need to leave this seal in or fish it out and replace (it's pretty stuffed now, btw) hopefully you can see it in the pics attached.. you might need to open the pic in a separate window to look right in there :P

Bleeding a clutch advice please
I have just fitted a new slave cylinder to my 96 940 LPT. Tried bleeding it and there seemed to be a small leak from the master cylinder behind the pedal letting air in. I took one off a spare car I have which was working ok till it was taken off the road 6 months ago. Fitted it and tried bleeding the system but cannot clear the air. This one sounds as if it is sucking in air behind the pedal as well. Am I missing a trick in bleeding it or should I just pay for a whole new one?

S40 (New) General : - Rough / Lumpy idle when warm, 2.0D
I've got a Diesel query. Over the last couple of months my S40 has started feeling rough when idling.
It only happens when the engine is warm. The fuel and air filters were replaced at its last service. Have any fellow owners experienced similar problems, and if so whats the fix?

MY2016 - DriveE VEA engines across the range
Just found:
http://nitroservice.fi/customers/vol...o/hinnasto.pdf
Shows the new VEA 'Drive E' ("E", in this case) engines across all the Volvo range, i.e. D2/D3/D4/D5.
The D4 will also be 190bhp in all (vs 181bhp on S/V60 at the moment), except the older S80/V70/XC70
The old Ford/PSA derived 1.6 engines also seem to move to VEA, except automatic T2 petrol's which appear to be 1.5l models?!

strange starting problem earlier
Went to start her earlier and it started instantly as usual but then cut out after a couple of seconds and would not restart, it was turning over fine but not firing, removed the key, locked and unlocked doors again, tried starting it again and it started instantly and drove fine, restarted another 2 times without a problem.
Any ideas or was it just throwing a wobbly. Going away in her next weekend so don't fancy a breakdown.

S60 rattle/light knocking from front
After owning the car for about a month now I need to try and sort an annoying knocking sound.
The car is a 2004 S60 2.5t and has the four-c suspension setting.
When driving the car on normal roads there is a constant light rattle/knocking coming from the front end. It doesn't get worse over bumpy ground but does seem to get less noticeable when the car is warmed up.
Was thinking of replacing all the drop links as it seems to be a common issue but read so many knocking issues on the forum I thought I'd ask advice first.
Any help would be appreciated - thanks

Amazon: - Driving on snow
Well it looks as though I will be moving from sunny California out to snow country. In the 1980s I lived in the Pacific Northwest and drove a Volvo 142. I could tell a couple of stories, some of them hair-raising! The 142 handled snow really well with its big tires and low first gear and no chains.
Now that I'm driving an Amazon I want to ask you guys how does the car handle on snow and ice? Will I need chains?
Mike

A pillar trim
Hello,
Just bought a new interior A pillar trim for my 06 plate V70. Ordered to chassis number, brand new. I have just fitted it and am disappointed to report that the fit is not as good as the original or even the NS. Don't get me wrong, it fits it just doesn't fit as well. All clips lined up and engaged. The finish isn't quite the same as the NS either. Is this common with spare trim parts on Volvo? I am debating replacing the NS just so they match, hopefully. I suspect what has happened is Volvo use a different manufacturer for service parts than manufacturing supplied parts??

Petrol or Diesel
Looking at a new to us C30, something the son can possibly drive once he learns etc but mainly for my wife to drive. Not a high mileage driver she would drive the mile to the school where she works, then the odd shopping trips, senior school pick ups now and again. We are looking at a drive s 1.6 diesel my10, and a R design 1.6 petrol my 09, the petrol being £1k cheaper and a bit more bling. Another possibility was a my10 20d R design, the nicest, but not sure on the insurance class may make it not viable.
At the minute wife has a v70 d5, which is not practical for a learner and or new driver, and I now have a 60 plate v70.

Suspension: - Pictures of V40/S40 ride heights on coilovers/springs
Hi All
I'm looking at purchasing Coilovers or springs for my 03 V40 , currently on arcadias.
Just like to see other peoples s40/v40 on aftermarket suspension + what set up you are using :)
I've looked into FK Coilovers but seem loads of bad reviews regarding spring rate / banging over bumps etc.
Springs don't seem quiet low enough for me , but would like to see what other fellow enthusiast are using.
Cheers :)

Body/Trim: - Door jammed shut
Have spent the afternoon trying to open the drivers door of my long-stored '82 240 estate without any luck. Got in via passenger side and tore off soaking door card and all bits so I could see inside door, have removed the links to the various knobs and levers but still no movement.
Didn't see a "how-to" by anybody so is my plight unique? Have left it overnight for the WD40 to act, but the moving pieces of the latch plate seem to move OK. To quote Mr Clarkson, which bit should I encourage with my 2lb club hammer?
Ta if you can help.
