Windscreen sealant

$

I need some windscreen sealant for the bottom corners of the screen where the water tends to pool and drip inside. I already have some good stuff which I use in a gun but it's very awkward to use, getting the nozzle under the lip whilst lifting it. I am looking for something in a small tube, less difficult to handle. Any suggestions?

V70 Stereo/DVD: - XC70 SE replace aftermarket radio to use fitted Sat RTi

Hi All,

Just purchased a XC70 SE D5 which I believe has the upgraded factory SatNav (Rti). To be the dealer did not sell it has fitted.

However as I believe it's there, I would like to get it working if possible. The dealer states it's a case of removing the Sony system fitted and fitting the Volvo Specific system for that car. How do you find which system you require, as I've read they need to match and be compatible? Or is their more to this than meets the eye?

Thanks

TCV on 2000 (P2) V70XC hoses question

$

Hello

I was reading through some guide or other a while back (can't remember what for) and it mentioned that when disconnecting the turbo control valve make sure to remember where the three hoses went and to connect them correctly on replacement

I was changing a headlight bulb earlier this evening and when i looked at the TCV on mine i noticed there are only two hoses connected to it, the two which meet at right angles. The third nipple next to the electrical connector has nothing attached and doesn't look like anything ever has been. The car runs fine, the turbo works and there are no fault codes on the ECU.

It's an X reg, second generation V70XC with the 2.4 petrol engine. Should the third nipple be connected to something or is this normal?

Thanks in advance

Simon

XC70 Rear Arch Trim

Hi,

On our '05' XC70, the O/S/R wheel arch plastic trim seems to be becoming 'unstuck' - there is what looks like some glue residue in the gap. The N/S/R is fine.

How are these arch trims fixed on and is it a simple repair, please?

Many thanks.

Hi.

Just found out I've got a split belly pan on my 08' c30. Is this a diy job? Can I simply unbolt it & remove it till I source a replacement. I see that aluminium or plastic pans are available. Which would be best?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Suddenly really low xenons and car windscreen fogging up

Hi there,

Volvo s80, 2004 facelift

Checked straight away with Vida and found an error - REM-8F11 Position sensor xenon lamp Signal too low

And once I click on the error I got this

Headlights, Headlight aim is off, DC
Headlights, Does not work, EY

Can't find much about this error, any ideas, broken sensor, mechanism, reset at some point?

How do you deal with a windscreen that fogs up? Only when A/C is on it's okay once it's off that's it.

Regards

Winter Tyres, I've Bought British (hopefully)

I have a new car, different tyre size and so have spent the last month tracking winter tyre prices. I decided today was the day to buy them in, I get them fitted by a garage opposite me when the weather changes. After a nerdish amount of deliberation I have gone for Avon WV7 Snow tyres. They are apparently made in the UK and are part of the Cooper Tyre group.

I had Cooper tyres for the last three winters, on the back of a recommendation from Wmorrison, and so I am happy to go with a tyre from the same group again. It is distinctly possible that they are the same tyre but re-branded anyway. Reviews for the tyre are very good as well

The good news is that because the tyre is produced in the UK they are better priced than many others out there because they will not be imported, horrible exchange rate at the moment for imports. I appreciate the raw materials will be imported but that is where the exchange rate issue ends.

If we get bad snow this year I will report back on how I find them.

V70 - 7 Seat option

$

First off, can I introduce myself. I have a 2003 V70 D5 which I have had for 6 years and, overall, have been very happy with.

My car has the 7 seat option (folding kids seats in the boot area) and if there are any other V70 owners out there with this option, I have a couple of questions please...

1) It looks like my "7 seat" option was added as a conversion rather than factory fitted from new. I'm wondering whether there is any legal requirement for me to inform the DVLA of the conversion? If anyone else in the UK has a factory fitted 7 seat option what does it say on your V5? (in section 4 on my V5 there is line "Number of seats including driver" but is is simply blank).

2) Once upright, the folding "rear seat back" is locked in place (a pull handle releases the catch that is located at the hinge). On my seat it locks the hinge - but only on the left hand side hinge. Is this right or should there be locks on both sides?

Thanks,
benx

New XC60 "connected car"

Hi all. Newby's first post. I'm just getting familiar with my new XC60, and am trying to figure out the benefits of the various interweb connectivity options. I've got bluetooth web access working via my mobile phone (Spotify works a treat), and I'm wondering what additional benefit I'd gain from getting a dedicated data SIM and using the car's built-in "modem" instead. Anyone with firm ideas or understanding out there?

Thanks

S60 d5 2005 185 132000k smell inside car

For a while now when I've started the engine from cold, then drive off there's a really strong exhaust smell coming into the cabin. It goes away after a few minutes, but I'm worried for the kids health. And mine also. Obviously it's not meant to be happening. I must add, I have put a £70 chip tune box on. Could someone tell me why I'm getting this strong smell?

Service Issues: - V70 Resetting Service Reminder Message

$

I have a 2010 V70 and after servicing the car I am having problems resetting the service reminder message. I have tried the method in the workshop manual, tried the method shown on UTube and the methods described so far on this forum for 07' models but without success. When I keep the odometer button pressed and put the key to position II and wait, the yellow "i" information light never flashes as I'm told it should, and the message keeps appearing.
I'm at the stage of taking it to an independent garage to use their diagnostic equipment to reset it, but don't want too just for a simple thing like this.

Can anyone help please?
