Whilst travelling up and down to God's Country this past weekend I decided to try the connected features of the new car and found that on a 500 mile each way journey the data connection was good enough to stream music for less than 100 miles and those 100 miles were dictated by the major conurbation proximity.
I thought that this was down to the Vodafone network so I tried 3 on the way back and it was actually worse!
Both supplied voice connectivity for the entire journey.
So the moral here is that having a 'connected' car is ok should you live within a major city, but if you travel around like most people then you will find that you need to take your own music collection with you or it will be a quiet trip. Just another bit of marketing hype that seems to offer something but that is, in reality, of very limited practical use.
